The strengthened Standards cover the person, the organisation, care and services, the environment, clinical care, food and nutrition, and the residential community. Home-based providers focus on the first five as they apply to services delivered.
What’s different
More explicit expectations on governance accountability, on evidence that care is person-led, and on clinical governance where clinical care is delivered. Assessors look for outcomes, not just documents.
Evidence that works
Care plans that show the person’s goals in their words; incident records with follow-up; worker training records tied to the services delivered; a complaints log with actions taken; a governing body that meets and minutes decisions.
