NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2026–27

What changed. The annual update to price limits, claiming rules and the Support Catalogue took effect for the new financial year.

What it means for you. Your rate card, service agreements and quotes must reference the current limits from 1 July; claims above the limit are rejected.

Support at Home indexation and price caps

What changed. Annual indexation to Support at Home classification budgets and the transition arrangements toward capped service prices continued.

What it means for you. Your service list and quarterly budget statements must reflect current budgets and any capped prices for the services you deliver.

Worker screening and Code of Conduct reminders

What changed. The Commission continued its compliance focus on worker screening currency and Code of Conduct obligations for all workers, including unregistered providers.

What it means for you. Every worker in a risk-assessed role needs a current NDIS Worker Screening Check recorded in your register before their first shift.

MyMedicare and Medicare compliance focus

What changed. MyMedicare voluntary patient registration continued to expand as the basis for blended funding items, alongside ongoing Medicare compliance activity on billing patterns.

What it means for you. Practices should register eligible patients, document consent, and audit billing against item descriptors regularly.

Bulk-billing incentive expansion

What changed. Expanded bulk-billing incentives commenced, extending eligibility beyond concession card holders and children, with an additional practice-level incentive for practices that bulk bill all patients.

What it means for you. Practices had to decide whether to move to full bulk billing and update fee schedules, patient information and software item mappings accordingly.

New Aged Care Act and Support at Home commence

What changed. The Aged Care Act 2024 commenced, bringing the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, the new Statement of Rights, the registration model for providers, and the Support at Home program replacing Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care.

What it means for you. Home care providers now operate under registration categories, the strengthened Standards and Support at Home's classifications, budgets and participant contributions.

Transitional rules on what counts as an NDIS support

What changed. Following the 2024 Act amendments, the lists of what is and is not an NDIS support continued to apply, with transitional 'replacement support' arrangements for some items.

What it means for you. Participants and providers must check that a support sits on the 'in' list before it's delivered and claimed; substitution requires approval.

NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025–26

What changed. New price limits and claiming rules for 2025–26, including changes to travel and some therapy items.

What it means for you. Quotes and agreements dated after 1 July 2025 need the new limits; therapy providers in particular had to re-issue schedules.

RACGP Standards for general practices (5th edition) - accreditation cycle

What changed. Accreditation against the 5th edition Standards continued, with the National General Practice Accreditation Scheme and its indicators the basis for practice accreditation.

What it means for you. Policies on infection control, clinical governance, privacy and continuity of care must map to the current indicators; accreditation surveys check evidence, not intentions.

Preparing for the strengthened Quality Standards

What changed. Guidance and provider readiness material for the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards was finalised ahead of commencement, including the Standard 5 clinical care expectations.

What it means for you. Providers needed a clinical governance framework, open disclosure process and dignity-of-risk approach in place before 1 November 2025.

Serious Incident Response Scheme in home services - settled practice

What changed. SIRS reporting obligations for home services providers continued, with the Commission publishing further guidance on priority classifications and timeframes.

What it means for you. Priority 1 incidents must be reported within 24 hours; your incident procedure must classify correctly and evidence follow-up.

Privacy Act reforms - first tranche

What changed. The first tranche of Privacy Act amendments passed, including a statutory tort for serious invasions of privacy, transparency obligations for automated decisions and stronger enforcement powers.

What it means for you. Practices handling health information should review privacy policies, breach response and any automated decision-making, ahead of further tranches.

Getting the NDIS Back on Track No. 1 Act commences

What changed. Amendments to the NDIS Act introduced a definition of 'NDIS supports', new powers around plan funding periods and budgets, and the framework for a new needs-assessment approach.

What it means for you. Funding periods and 'total funding amount' language now appear in plans; supports outside the definition cannot be claimed.
