Why it’s not optional

Every state and territory has adopted child-safe standards based on the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. Schools, councils and insurers increasingly ask to see your policies before they’ll refer or cover you. Parents ask too.

The minimum set

Child safety and wellbeing policy; code of conduct for tutors; complaints and concerns procedure that a child or parent could actually use; incident reporting; recruitment and screening (WWCC, referee checks); online tutoring safety (cameras, recordings, no private messaging); and training records.

What parents check

Is the WWCC current? Will sessions be one-to-one behind closed doors? Can I see the tutor’s ID? What happens if I have a concern? Answer these on your website before they ask.
